About Lorne

Faith & Family.

Lorne has been married to Mary Scott Liechty for 37 years, and they have four children and six grandchildren. The Liechtys attend Lakeshore Church, where Lorne served as an Elder for twelve years, has served as chairman of a Capital Stewardship Campaign, and taught several Sunday School classes.  Lorne and Mary have also led multiple mission trips to Nicaragua and tourism trips to Israel.

Education & Career.

Lorne graduated from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, and from the University of Notre Dame with a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, and a Masters of Business Administration degree, With Highest Honors.  He was licensed as an attorney in 1981, and is a Founding Partner with the law firm of Liechty & McGinnis, LLP, where his practice is focused in the area of commercial real estate transactions.

Elected Leadership & Service.

From 2004 to 2012, Liechty served as a member of the Heath City Council, serving as Mayor Pro Tem during the last two years of that tenure.  In 2012, Liechty was elected to serve as Mayor, where he successfully pushed to improve roads and other city services, grow the economy, attract desirable commercial development and expand high-quality, low-density residential development.

Volunteerism & Philanthropy.

Lorne is a past Chairman of the Heath Park Board, and he serves on the Board of Directors of Rockwall County Helping Hands, a non-profit organization that provides medical care, food, and direct financial assistance to families in need. This successful program has helped thousands of residents improve their health and financial situation instead of relying on intrusive government involvement.
